πΎ One Love at the Fullerton Free Certified Farmers Market: Bringing Rescue to the Heart of the Community
Throughout 2025, One Love Animal Rescue & Sanctuary had the joy of participating in multiple outreach events at the Fullerton Free Certified Farmers Market β and each appearance reinforced why community events are such a vital part of rescue work.
With the market taking place every Saturday morning, we chose a select few dates to pop up with our rescue family. Each event was a one-day experience, but the connections made β between people and animals, neighbors and volunteers, first-time visitors and longtime supporters β lasted far beyond the market hours.
πΆπ±π° What We Brought to the Market
Our booth quickly became a lively, welcoming space filled with curiosity, learning, and lots of smiles. With multiple pop-up tents and outdoor pens, visitors were able to meet a rotating group of rescue animals, ensuring every event felt fresh and exciting.
Guests were invited to interact with:
-
π± Adoptable cats lounging comfortably in our cat tent, where visitors could slow down, sit with them, and learn about their personalities
-
π° Adoptable bunnies, offering gentle, calm interactions perfect for families and first-time bunny meet-and-greets
-
π¦ Bird ambassadors, who helped spark conversations about avian care, enrichment, and responsible ownership β plus some unforgettable photo moments
-
π’ Tortoises enjoying the sunshine in secure pens while guests learned about long-term reptile care
-
π Pygmy goats, who brought nonstop joy through feeding, petting, and hands-on interaction β easily one of the most talked-about parts of our setup
These experiences werenβt just fun β they were meaningful. Several cats and bunnies found loving homes as a direct result of these events, showing just how powerful in-person outreach can be when animals are allowed to simply be themselves. π
𧑠Education, Adoption & Support β All in One Place
Our market booth wasnβt only about meeting animals β it was also a space for education and connection. Volunteers spent the day answering questions, sharing stories, and explaining how community support makes rescue possible.
We highlighted opportunities such as:
-
π«Ά Volunteering with animals and events
-
π‘ Adoption and fostering, including what the process looks like
-
π Donations and sponsorships that support daily care
-
πΎ Our sanctuary mission, including long-term residents
With flyers, pamphlets, QR codes, and sign-up sheets available, visitors could take information home or stay connected digitally. Many market-goers returned for later events, excited to see familiar animals or meet new ones. We were also grateful for the support shown through purchases of our One Love merchandise, which helps directly fund rescue efforts.
π A Family-Friendly, Feel-Good Experience
The Fullerton Free Certified Farmers Market offered the perfect backdrop β energetic yet relaxed, educational yet playful. Children met animals theyβd only seen in books, parents asked thoughtful questions, and regular market visitors stopped by just to check in and see who joined us that week.
From first-time supporters to returning friends, our booth became a place where everyone felt welcome β united by a shared love for animals.
πΈ A Snapshot of the Day
With all tents active and people gathered throughout the morning, our setup reflected exactly what One Love stands for: bringing rescue animals into the heart of the community and creating real connections.
